Mazzoleni Art is pleased to announce that it will be participating for the first time in Art Basel Miami Beach in December 2015. The stand F5 will bring together works by some of the most significant Italian artists of the Post-War period and all of the works will be either black or white. An emphasis on the monochromatic is a shared component of the oeuvres of all of the artists on display, the selection of which will include Lucio Fontana (1899-1968), Alberto Burri (1915-1995), Piero Manzoni (1933-1963), Enrico Castellani (b. 1930), Agostino Bonalumi (1935-2003), Dadamaino (1930-2004) and Paolo Scheggi (1940-1971).
All of these artists contributed to the evolution of a new aesthetic in the history of art and raised the profile of Italian art internationally. Highlight works will include Achrome, (1957-1958) by Piero Manzoni, Concetto spaziale (1962) by Lucio Fontana, Bianco e Grigio (1964) by Agostino Bonalumi and Nero Cretto (1974) by Alberto Burri. The works on display use the industrial materials and the iconography of the monochrome as defining visual and conceptual elements and their significance is being reflected in the rising global interest amongst both museums and private collectors in Post-War Italian art.
