The second edition of Back to Nature, a public contemporary art exhibition organised and supported by Roma Culture, Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali and curated by Costantino D’Orazio, will be presented in the Villa Borghese gardens. The show, held in the Parco dei Daini and around Piazza di Siena, focuses on the relationship between artworks and nature, as part of a strategic plan to enhance Rome’s historical parks.
The aim of the exhibition, as highlighted by the curator, is to stimulate the viewer to reflect on the world’s future and on a necessary new relationship with nature. The site-specific works are in dialogue with the park, its ponds and its paths, following an innovative approach, which will enable the viewer to grasp the correlation between the contemporary additions, historical architectures, and the plants.
Marinella Senatore participates in the show with Assembly (2021), displayed at Villa Borghese. The installation consists of a liberating encouragement: Dance first, think later (a quote by Samuel Beckett “Dance first think later. It’s the natural order”), irradiating from a luminescent writing positioned by the artist on a wall lined with gold leaf. The structure, inspired by electrically-lit luminarie, and by Baroque rose windows and portals, is provided with a platform conceived as a stage for the audience to perform on.
