The Centre Georges Pompidou has organised an exhaustive retrospective exhibition of the Cuban artist Wifredo Lam, that will be open to the public between the 30th of September 2015 to the 15th of February 2016. This exhibition aims to explore the work of the artist through 400 artworks, including paintings, drawings, photography, magazines and rare books, and to position the artist in the international artistic panorama. The purpose of this event is to provide a new point of view of Lam’s life and work, creating an overview of his firsts years in Cuba, his stays in Spain, Paris and Marseille before arriving to Zurich, and his return to Havana.
The exhibition involves as well a great loan from the MoMA of New York: The Jungle.
