SOLO – Piero Manzoni, presented at Museo Novecento in Florence, Italy

A solo show by Piero Manzoni is being held from 18 September until 13 December 2018, in Florence, Italy, at Museo Novecento, directed by Sergio Risaliti. The exhibition is organized in collaboration with Fondazione Piero Manzoni from Milan.
The selection of works focuses on “oggetti” (objects) – to be precise, “concetti-oggetti” (concepts-objects) – that were produced by the artist from 1959 to 1962. Manzoni was a pioneer, both theoretically and artistically. The exhibition curator, Gaspare Luigi Marcone, comments, “Manzoni stands as a ‘non-classifiable’ artist, continuously providing stimulus for the critics and prolific research hypotheses”. The concept of the exhibition provides a panorama of the most important phases of his research and also an appendix dedicated to Monocromo, an exhibition, held in Florence at Galleria Il Fiore, in January 1963. This was one of the last group shows that Manzoni participated in.
Mazzoleni is pleased to announce that two Manzoni’s artworks from our gallery are exhibited in the show.
