The Museum der Moderne Salzburg and the Museum VILLA STUCK in Munich, in cooperation with the Generali Foundation Collection, dedicate to Marinella Senatore‘s largest exhibition to date as a two-chapter project, open in both cities at the same time. Both presentations complement each other and offer an overview of the entire spectrum of Senatore’s oeuvre.
A comprehensive book published by Verlag Hatje Cantz accompanies the exhibition. The authors discuss questions relating to different themes, such as the tension between the individual and the collective; longing and belonging; socio-political inclusion and alternative forms of organisation, as well as the transformative potential of art.
Senatore’s participatory project The School of Narrative Dance (SOND) will also be central to Marinella Senatore’s exhibitions in both Salzburg and Munich: two different participatory events will take place during the summer, revealing SOND’s ‘linguistic dissonances’, a short-circuit between a variety of languages and disciplines that release communal energy.
