The multi-site exhibition MARINELLA SENATORE. Afterglow, taking place from 9 June to 26 August 2022, will not only present a new body of sculptures and drawings at the London gallery but will also activate the city across different public light installations and performances.
Assembly (2021), a work comprising two monumental outdoor light installations, is currently on view in front of Grade II* listed Power Station, in the newly opened six-acre park facing the iconic Battersea Power Station, a space that “naturally” gathers communities and has hosted Senatore’s projects previously in 2018 within the framework of Art Night London. The work will remain installed until 10 June.
On Thursday 9 June at 6 pm, a series of ‘public actions’ open to all will ‘activate’ the light sculptures, involving over 200 performers. Each of them shares core values as well as personal connections with the artist and The School of Narrative Dance (SOND), Senatore’s renowned participatory project that counts a network of over 6.5 million participants across 23 countries. SOND is a multi-disciplinary, nomadic school, focused on exploring new ideas of community, empowerment, and emancipation.
