MARINELLA SENATORE: A SALIRE A LE STELLE [To Climb To The Stars], the artist’s new exhibition curated by Ilaria Bernardi at Palazzo Fabroni, Museo del Novecento e del Contemporaneo, opens to the public on the 27th of May in Pistoia, Italy.
The exhibition, which includes a comprehensive selection of works by the artist, both historical and new, celebrates the museum’s acquisition of Senatore’s A salire a le stelle / To Climb To The Stars (2021), an environmental installation which draws on Cantos XXIV and XXV of Dante Alighieri’s Inferno. Marinella Senatore with this artwork won the sezione Dante of the Premio Cantica21. Italian Contemporary Art Everywhere award, supported by the Ministero per gli Affari Esteri e la Cooperazione Internazionale – Direzione Generale per la Promozione del Sistema Paese e Ministero della Cultura – Direzione Generale Creatività Contemporanea.
The event is part of the celebrations dedicated to Dante Alighieri, commemorating the 700th anniversary of the poet’s passing. A catalogue, written in Italian and English and containing an essay by the curator of the show, together with extensive images of the exhibited works, accompanies the exhibition.
