IL VIDEO RENDE FELICI. Videoarte in Italia

The exhibition IL VIDEO RENDE FELICI. Videoarte in Italia organised by Valentina Valentini is divided into two spaces, the Palazzo delle Esposizioni and the Galleria d’Arte Moderna in Rome.
The subject of the exhibition is the production of video art and artists’ cinema in Italy from the late 1960s to the new century. Italy was the promoter of exemplary and pioneering initiatives and represents an artistic and cultural reference point for video experimentation in terms of variety, quality and international scope.
On show are 20 installations plus over 300 works collected in dedicated exhibitions, for over 80 hours of projection. The exhibition itinerary winds its way through the multiple variety of exhibition formats: single-channel video, video installations, multimedia, interactive, and of apparatuses aimed at retracing the production and historical process of the works. Marinella Senatore is among the artists featured.

Overall, the project involves more than 100 artists who, over the last sixty years, have used the electronic and digital device, in its many forms, as a privileged medium for research and audio-visual experimentation.
