Palazzo Reale di Genova, from 7 September to 7 October 2018 hosts in the Teatro del Falcone, an exhibition organized by the Archives of Contemporary Art of the University of Genoa, in collaboration with Mazzoleni, London-Torino, Primo Marella Gallery and Progettoarte ELM, dedicated to two undisputed masters, Enzo Cacciola and Gianfranco Zappettini, who since the seventies of the last century have dedicated their work to a coherent investigation on the specificities of painting as an expressive means of contemporary artistic research: Cacciola with concrete paintings that want to detect problems relating to the space of analysis offered by the material, or in unprecedented connections between matter and geometry capable of probing and revealing the intimate nature of reality; Zappettini elaborating geometric compositional modules and minimal chromatic gradients to arrive, through a process of rarefaction of the sign, to the linguistic zeroing and, more recently, to the metaphysical value of the plot and the warp.
Curated by Leo Lecci and Alberto Rigoni. The exhibition is open until 7 October, from Thursday to Sunday, from 2 to 6 pm.
