Mazzoleni returns to Art Basel Miami Beach with a presentation of figurative and abstract works by European Masters exploring diverse uses of colours, materials, and visual languages.
The selection features major pieces by internationally acclaimed artists born in the late 19th century, such as Giacomo Balla, Giorgio Morandi, and Giorgio de Chirico, who radically transformed the approach to figurative art. Space and signs are explored through works by Lucio Fontana, Carla Accardi, and Jannis Kounellis, whilst materials are investigated with examples from the “Cretto” series by Alberto Burri. This reflexion culminates on human identity with an installation and a silkscreen on steel by Arte Povera’s pioneers Giulio Paolini and Michelangelo Pistoletto. A section dedicated to Op Art’s founder Victor Vasarely and his son Yvaral completes the presentation with vibrant geometric compositions.
