Thea Romanello in conversation with Andrea Francolino on his recent residency in Paris, thanks to Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Parigi and CONTEMPORALIS Association Amis Art Contemporain France.
The artist says: “In my practice, rupture — whether a crack or a chasm — serves as a point of departure for an open-ended process of reflection, one that unfolds in ways I cannot fully anticipate. This is why, during my residency at the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris, I chose to wander through the city in search of sensations, possibilities, and fractures — in other words, the unpredictable variables of chance.”
