A multi-site and site-specific event in Via Maroncelli, Milan, with Fondazione Castellani.
During renovation work on a property adjacent to Via Maroncelli 19, a crack accidentally appeared on the wall of Fondazione Enrico Castellani. This event prompted Lorenzo Wirz Castellani and Federico Sardella, the Foundation’s director, to bring it to the attention of Andrea Francolino. The crack, symbolising the principles of chance and fragility, and illustrating how small marks or imperfections can reveal universal patterns, is a central theme in Francolino’s artistic research.
The artist transformed this accident into a site-specific artwork, now part of the Foundation’s collection, as well as seven new, unique pieces, which will be presented to the public on Tuesday 10 December, from 6pm – 9pm.
The event, conceived as a unique and widespread experience, will take place in Milan, between the former Casa Bolognesi/Confalonieri (No. 17) and Fondazione Castellani (No. 19), which will also be open for the occasion.
