At the centre of the presentation is Lucio Fontana’s iconic Concetto Spaziale, Attesa (1962), a powerful example of his radical gesture of slashing the canvas. This single cut through raw fabric invites viewers into a new way of thinking about space, dimension, and materiality. With one decisive act, Fontana opens up the surface—encouraging reflection on how simplicity can carry profound conceptual weight.
Also on view is a striking work by Carla Accardi, showcasing her distinctive approach to abstraction and viewer engagement. Filtrare di orli (1992), a 2.2-metre-tall vinyl-on-canvas piece, features her signature monochromatic language of signs. The fluid movement of lines across both painted and unpainted areas creates a rhythmic visual dialogue between positive and negative space.
Enrico Castellani’s innovative manipulation of surface and structure is represented by Superficie bifronte argento (2012), one of the aluminium sculptures he focused on between 2006 and 2013. Castellani’s minimalist practice explores light, shadow, and geometric rhythm—pushing the boundaries of perception and material form.
