October 20: presentation of Andrea Francolino’s unprecedented performance with Humus. La bandiera unica della terra
On the occasion of Paris Art Basel week, the Italian Cultural Institute presents Humus. La bandiera unica della terra, an ambitious project by Italian artist Andrea Francolino, first developed for the Museo Novecento in Florence in 2020 in an exhibition curated by Sergio Risaliti and Luca Puri, and now reaching a new stage of evolution.
On Monday, October 20, 2025, starting at 6:30 pm, the evening will open with the screening of a documentary dedicated to the Florentine presentation of the project, followed by a conversation with the artist and curator Lorenzo Benedetti, and will culminate in the presentation of the unprecedented performance Ecological Monument. On this occasion, participants will be invited to hold Humus, the Earth’s unique flag, on a square meter of living grass, thus symbolically becoming an Ecological Monument.
This new chapter of the project has been made possible thanks to the curatorial contribution of Lorenzo Benedetti and the collaboration of Roberta Malavasi, president of CONTEMPORALIS (Association Amis Art Contemporain France Italie), who has supported its development.
