Mazzoleni is pleased to highlight the presence of Melissa McGill and Marinella Senatore, alongside David Reimondo, in Venice during the 61st Venice Biennale. While McGill and Senatore are featured in individual projects, David Reimondo’s Hands in Progress, 2025 will be on view at Palazzo Bragadin Carabba, accompanying the exhibition LETTERA curated by Giulia Colussi and Elena Re.

From 30 April, Melissa McGill presents Marea, a site-specific installation at Corte Nova, in the Sestiere of Castello. Conceived in close partnership with local Venetian residents and students, Marea fosters a community-centred model of artistic resilience at a time of profound challenges for the city. In parallel, McGill also presents the exhibition Acque at Galleria 10 & Zero Uno, Via Garibaldi.

During the Biennale, Marinella Senatore presents We Rise by Lifting Others at Procuratie Vecchie. The project emerged from a participatory process involving families supported by The Human Safety Net through a series of workshops. Conceived as a collective event within the international context of the Biennale, the exhibition takes shape through a monumental luminaria and a series of tapestries that weave together images and texts generated during the workshops, marking a new phase in the artist’s research. Senatore also takes part in Komorebi, an exhibition curated by Marta Cereda at St. Regis Venice.

On the occasion of the exhibition LETTERA, curated by Giulia Colussi and Elena Re, Hands in Progress, 2025, by David Reimondo will be on view at Palazzo Bragadin Carabba, Calle Scaleta 6039.

Andrea Francolino. Esterno Notte

Friday 10 April, on the occasion of Esterno Notte, an Exposed event held in collaboration with TAG, Mazzoleni presents Minuto #17 by Andrea Francolino in via Cernaia.
The initiative invites the public to rediscover the urban space through a renewed relationship with the image, while the city will be enlivened by projections on the architecture of the city centre until midnight.
The presentation of the work will continue at Mazzoleni until 24 May 2026.

Marinella Senatore. Artist of the Year, GNAMC

Mazzoleni is proud to announce the appointment of Marinella Senatore as the 2026 Artist of the Year by the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Rome. As the first female artist to receive this prestigious recognition, Senatore will also be presenting her first solo exhibition at the GNAMC.
Conceived as a site specific event, the exhibition will feature new, previously unseen works.
The concept of landscape is introduced here for the first time as an explicit visual structure, having been extensively theorised within the artist’s practice. Deeply rooted in the performative origins of her renowned collective actions, the works – drawings, collage, light sculptures and tapestries – offer a powerful reinterpretation of landscape as an activator and central protagonist of community life.

Marinella Senatore – We Rise by Lifting Others

We Rise by Lifting Others We Rise by Lifting Others is a new art for social impact project by Marinella Senatore, developed in collaboration with The Human Safety Net and presented at the Casa di The Human Safety Net in Venice on the occasion of the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia. On view from 7 May 2026 to 22 March 2027, the exhibition unfolds as a shared experience centred on inclusion, resilience and collective potential. The project emerged from a participatory process involving families supported by The Human Safety Net and several of its NGO partners in Warsaw, Mestre and Palermo. Through a series of workshops based on writing, storytelling and movement, Senatore created spaces of listening and exchange, transforming lived experiences, words and narratives into visual material.

Conceived as a collective event situated within the international context of the Biennale, the exhibition takes shape through a monumental luminaria and a series of tapestries that weave together images and texts generated during the workshops, marking a new phase in the artist’s research. Landscape, understood as a relational and symbolic space, becomes a central element of the project, shaping a choral narrative in which vulnerability is reimagined as a shared resource. In dialogue with the permanent exhibition A World of Potential, We Rise by Lifting Others interprets and amplifies The Human Safety Net’s mission, reaffirming the role of art as a universal language capable of activating communities and generating meaningful and lasting impact.

Taking place in the heart of Venice at Corte Nova from 30 April to 10 May 2026, during the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, Marea is conceived in close partnership with local Venetian residents and students, fostering a community centred model of artistic resilience at a time of profound challenges for the city.
The project has received official support from the Municipality of Venice and is endorsed by the Italian National Commission for UNESCO and by the Italian Ambassador to the United States, Ambassador Mariangela Zappia.
