Born in 1979 in Verona, Luca Trevisani lives and works in Berlin and Italy.
He emerged early in the new millennium, soon becoming one of the most interesting young artists in Italy and elsewhere. Regarding his work, he has released the following statement: “I don’t know if it is a struggle with imbalance, perhaps of states of definition. Certainly, salvation does not lie in the closed form of things. We have to surrender to the deterioration of things. It is better to forget the confines between the individual works, like the confines between individual thoughts, images no longer exist, only chains of images”. These words perfectly define the sense taken on by the work of Trevisani, who captures in every material adopted, in every image, in every sign of the evolution to which the real is subject. Consistently, his activity ranges from sculpture to installations in space, from photography to video and short films. Trevisani has exhibited these works on many occasions, holding solo shows in galleries such as Giò Marconi, Milan (2008), Pinksummer in Genoa (2006, 2009) and Medi Chouakri in Berlin (2008, 2011, 2013, 2016) and in public spaces such as the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Berlin in 2014, the Galleria d’Arte Moderna in Turin in 2015 and the Marselleria space in Milan in 2016. Among the many group shows mention has to be made of the artist’s participation in Manifesta and the Turin Triennale and 2008 and museums such as Le Magasin in Grenoble and MART in Rovereto in 2010, Castello di Rivoli –Museo d’Arte Contemporanea in 2014, Museion in Bolzano and the Kunsthalle in Vienna in 2015. In 2016, he participated in the Rome Quadriennale.
