Giorgio Griffa

Griffa had his first solo show in 1968 at Galleria Martano in Turin. In 1969 he began a collaboration with Galleria Sperone, Turin and in 1970 exhibited at Ileana Sonnabend gallery in New York and Paris.
Griffa’s international exhibition history is extensive and includes Prospekt at the Kunsthalle, Düsseldorf (1969 and 1973), Processi di pensiero visualizzato at the Kunstmuseum, Lucerne (1970) as well as the main Pittura Analitica and Nuova Pittura exhibitions throughout the 1970s. In 1978 and 1980 Griffa was invited to the Venice Biennale.
More recently Griffa has been shown widely in institutional projects, including in 2015 a major retrospective at Centre d’Art Contemporain, Geneva and a show at Kunsthalle Bergen, followed by museum shows in France and Portugal in 2016. Griffa currently lives and works in Turin.
