Claudio Verna

Born in 1937 in Guardiagrele, in the province of Chieti. He grew up in Umbria but moved to Florence where he graduated and had his first important exhibitions.
Verna participated in the Venice Biennale in 1970, 1978 and 1980 and was included in numerous international museum exhibitions in Philadelphia, Dusseldorf, Rotterdam, Frankfurt, Stockholm, Cologne, Moscow, and Rio de Janeiro amongst many others. In 2008, the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei awarded him with the “Antonio Feltrinelli” prize for Painting and he became a member of the Accademia di San Luca. Claudio Verna currently lives and works in Rome.
